Founders
KAIS LOUATI
Kais Louati co-founded Phoenix Football Consulting with the vision of providing serious players and families with structured, honest football pathways and professional standards.
Originally from Tunisia, Kais began playing at the age of seven and joined the U13 squad of Sfax Railway Sport, one of the country’s respected development clubs. He developed as an attacking midfielder through the semi-professional youth level before transitioning into coaching while pursuing his university studies.
Since 2014, Kais has coached across all age groups from U5 to adult level, gaining extensive experience in long-term player development. He quickly earned a head coach role at Faly Academy and has spent more than a decade working closely with players at various competitive levels. His recent focus has been on the development and progression of the 2010 and 2011 generations, guiding players through key stages of competitive advancement.
In 2021, Kais served as Executive Director of FC Faly during the club’s inaugural season competing in the NSYSA and BCCSL leagues, helping establish its sporting structure and player development framework. After one year in this leadership role, he returned to the international education sector while continuing his coaching and player development work.
His experience also includes contributing to player scouting for Altitude FC Women during the club’s inaugural season.
Throughout his coaching career, Kais has supported the progression of numerous players between competitive levels, including players who advanced from Division 2 to the BCSPL environment within a short development cycle. His approach emphasizes long-term progression, discipline, and intelligent decision-making both on and off the field.
A Canada Soccer National C Diploma certified coach, Kais believes in simplicity and speed of play, often reminding players that effective football is built on movement, teamwork, and quick decision-making.
Kais holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, a Master’s degree in Marketing, and a Post-Baccalaureate Diploma in Human Resources Management.
He speaks English, French, Arabic, and intermediate Spanish, allowing him to work comfortably with players and families from diverse international backgrounds.
PHIL MACKENZIE
Phil MacKenzie co-founded Phoenix Football Consulting to help serious players bridge the gap between ambition and professional opportunity through structured, high-performance development.
With more than 20 years of experience as both a player and coach, Phil’s football journey has taken him across Canada and Mexico, where he advanced to the professional level and later transitioned into coaching. His time competing and working within demanding football environments shaped his understanding of elite standards, discipline, and the pathway required to reach higher levels of the game.
Phil has worked extensively with youth and emerging players from grassroots to U23 level, focusing on long-term athlete development and performance progression. Over the years, he has supported numerous players in advancing from lower competitive divisions into higher-level environments, helping them secure trials and exposure opportunities through structured development and preparation.
Now based in Vancouver, Phil specializes in high-performance individual and small-group training for players seeking to elevate their game. His work emphasizes technical mastery, position-specific development, tactical understanding, physical preparation aligned with professional standards, and the mental discipline required for consistent performance.
Phil also collaborates with international contacts in Spain and Mexico to help create pathways for players to experience professional training environments and gain exposure to opportunities abroad.
His coaching philosophy centers on structure, accountability, and purposeful development. Phil believes that talent alone is not enough — progress requires discipline, consistency, and a clear roadmap. His role is to help each player build the habits, standards, and environment needed to move confidently toward the next level of their football journey.
Phil holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Management and has served as an academy director for several years, in addition to working as a team coach and consultant for youth, semi-professional, and professional football environments. He is fluent in English and Spanish, and also speaks French
